Frequently asked questions

Feel free to reach out by phone or email with any questions or to schedule a consult.

Do I have to stop using substances to start therapy?

With over a decade of experience in substance use and mental health treatment, support is offered across the full spectrum of use, from safer use to abstinence and everything in between. Rather than focusing only on stopping use, therapy explores what role substances may be playing, what patterns feel difficult to change, and what alternatives might support the life someone is trying to build. There is no judgment about where someone begins.

Can I get support for a loved one’s substance use?

Specialized support is available for family members and loved ones of individuals who use substances. Loving someone who uses substances can be emotionally complex and exhausting. The focus is on helping you stay connected to yourself while navigating a difficult and often painful situation.

Do I need to have everything figured out first?

You do not need to have everything figured out to begin therapy. You only need a place to start.

Do you take insurance?

We’re in-network with Independence Blue Cross (IBX), so if you have IBX coverage, your sessions may be available at little to no out-of-pocket cost. We can accept Cigna and Aetna on a limited basis.

Don’t have IBX and can’t afford private pay?

Reach out — we hold a limited number of reduced-fee spots. Private pay is $150/session.

Will I have to talk about trauma right away?

Therapy is paced with safety in mind and emphasizes choice, control, and emotional safety. There is no pressure to disclose or process anything before you feel ready.

Do I have to do mindfulness or body-based work?

When helpful, therapy may incorporate mindfulness and body-based practices to support grounding and emotional regulation. These approaches are informed by a 250-hour Yoga Alliance certification and are offered as optional supports.

Where do you offer therapy?

We offer therapy for individuals in Philadelphia and across Pennsylvania and New Jersey via telehealth.

What are your hours?

Mon – Fri, 8:00 am – 8:00 pm. Saturday and Sunday by appointment only.
